How It Works: Students

We've broken the process down into three easy steps:

STEP 1: Get a Quote

Okay, this part's easy: just fill out our Free Quote form to get started scheduling a time for us to drop off your storage containers.

We'll come by at the time you set to drop off containers and collect payment. You don't pay anything until we drop off your containers—we're real people, we want you to get to know us and us you. (This also has the added benefit of giving you the option of paying with cash or card.)

After you've packed your storage containers to the brim, we'll move on to Step 2.

STEP 2: Schedule Pickup

Now, this part's actually pretty easy too: just pick a few times on the "Pickup My Stuff" page to set a time for us to come pick up your (now packed) storage containers.

We'll show up with a car or truck, secure and label your containers, and load them into the truck to be stored at one of our storage locations.

After you know when you're returning to campus and where you'll be living: give us the address on the "Dropoff My Stuff" page where we can drop off your stuff.

After unsealing the containers and having you confirm the contents, we'll have you sign to confirm that you received your containers and you can get back in the swing of things with a little less stress.

FAQ's, Policies, and Forms

What areas do you serve?
Right now, the only two communities that we serve are Loyola University Chicago and Northwestern University. If all goes well this summer, expect us to stick around and expand our offerings even further (looking at you, DePaul...and you, UIC).

Do you only do summer storage or can I use you for my study abroad trip?
Right now, we're just getting started with summer storage. If all goes well, expect us to stick around and expand even further.

How big are your storage containers? How much can they hold?
Each container is 27 gallons, or
5.28ft3, and each can easily hold 20 pairs of shoes, 50-70 shirts or 24 sweaters, with a maximum capacity of 60 pounds.

Each container is 31"(L) x 21"(W) x 14"(D).

Our maximum order size (10 containers) is usually more than plenty for the average dorm room, ~7 containers is about average.

What about things that cannot fit in my containers?

We understand your items don’t always exactly fit into a few containers. Let us know about any specialty items (bikes, furniture, etc.) by email with an attached photo and we'll send you a personalized emailed quote.

What if I need more than 10 containers? Is there an additional discount?

Unfortunately, the pricing schedule resets after 10 containers, so if you order 12 it works out to paying for 10 containers ($175) and 2 more ($90), or $265. This is to keep a level of consistency to our service and it's one of the many features of our service that allows us to keep our prices so low. If you have to go over the 10 container limit, we'd recommend getting a friend to store their stuff with you.

Can I coordinate with friends to save money, or split containers with my roommates?
Absolutely! We recommend this, but remember that we only deliver to one address at the end of the summer. So, try to coordinate with people who you'll be living with next year if you go this route.

Why do you take payments in person? Wouldn't it be easier to do it through the website?

We want people to be comfortable working with us, that means meeting you in person and only charging you when we deliver on our end. It would be incredibly easy to do it over the web, but that also takes away other options of paying for storing with us—cash and cards are both accepted by our friendly staff.

Do you charge per month?

No we do not! We charge you based strictly on volume. If you decide you'd like to continue storing your stuff with us past the start of the school year, we may charge an additional delivery fee.

Where is my stuff stored?

We have a network of storage centers near Chicago and in the Chicagoland area. These are constantly monitored by cloud-connected cameras and kept in a climate-controlled environment.

So, how are your prices so much lower than other companies?

We're undergrads and we work for free. Just kidding.

This is our business model:

For one, we've standardized everything from our storage containers to our pickup and dropoff windows. We use dynamic resource allocation models similar to Free Flow, allowing us to maximize the use of our storage space, moving trucks, staff, and time based on each new order that comes in. And we use a flat-pricing model that includes sales tax, fees, and smoothly rounded numbers to ensure that our costs are covered.
